why some people are so headstrong and rigid?

Very often, we come across people who are adamant, stubborn and headstrong. They think they are ‘know it all’ and have very closed minds. We often think them to be immature because these people fail to understand other people’s point of view or rather try to impose their views on others. This rigid behaviour on their part stems from their own inadequacies, insecurities and their pasts. Sometimes we feel that such people are more difficult to manage than even spoilt children. They become incorrigible. To hide their insecurities and inadequacies they wear the protective shield of ego. Rather than reacting to their behaviour, we must be nice and kind to them. This might soften their approach in the long run.
